Another Fabulous Day!: Meijer Indy 300 in Kentucky

not so enjoying- liv getting YELLED at by the elephant trainer. Hence all of our faces are in shock!

What was supposed to be a lucky day for me turned into just another day. I thought we were staying at Belterra so I was ready to gamble, but plans changed a few times. (Note to self: when liv makes plans, expect them to change). We did go to the state fair that day so I got to do some scratch offs there. I won some free scratch offs, more scratch offs, then about $15. Guess that's about as lucky as I was gonna get. We did the elephant ride because that's all olivia wanted to do for her birf-day. $6 a person, $18 later, liv was getting yelled at by mr elephant trainer for taking her blackberry out of her pocket. Sorry sir, that was Emma and Dix texting liv happy birthday. He apparently hated his life so much that he had to freak out on her for it.

So saturday, 08-09-08, 5 of us hopped in the pilot and made the trek down to Sparta, Kentucky for the Meijer 300 Indy Car race. 3 hours later, a few fights, a temper tantrum, and a scenic out of the way detour, we arrived at our destination. Still not really sure why we took the detour. We enjoyed free beer and food from Penske hospitality. The grilled chicken was delicious! We watched the race from the wall of Dixon's pit which was really cool. Up close and personal for sure. FYI- this was only my second race EVER. Dixon won......blah blah blah. What's new right? Congrats to Dix and Packy and the team though. It was a great race for sure! liv got caught bb'ng (blackberry-ing) on television in victory lane. I on the other hand, got caught people watching and enjoying watching the winners get their photo taken over and over again. 5 or 6 hat changes to be exact.

We then headed back to the car to jet back to Indy. 7 of us (2 more than we came down with) hopped back in the pilot to indy. I called this ride the shit show booze cruise back to indy. It was pretty much a shit show with 7 people, 2 of them drinking an 18 case in the back (liv and carter), 3 of the passengers being a Wheeler (enough said), a few arguments, no music, and at least one potty break. We arrived safe and sound at the wheeler household. Thanks ellen and christopher for the tix and ellen for the ride to and from the track. It was a blasty blast! Enjoy the piccies!
